139 Rohingya refugees held in Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar, June 18 (UNB) – BGB members held 139 Rohingya refugees at different locations of Teknaf upazila while they were entering Bangladesh on Monday.BGB sources said 103 Rohingya refugees who fled the sectarian violence in Myanmar in five boats were caught while trying to enter Bangladesh territory in Shah Parir Dwip area at about 2 pm.Earlier, a boat carrying 19 Rohingya refugees were arrested from Mongdu at Jaliapara point in Shah Parir Dwip area early in the morning.Besides, five Rohingya refugees were arrested from Naitong Para in Teknaf while 12 in the morning after they entered Bangladesh territory through Shah Porir Dwip in teknaf upazila.They also provided the Rohingya refugees with first aid, food and drinking water as they were hungry and thirsty and sustained slight injuries.
