Manikganj Hospital surgeon, motorcyclist killed in separate crashes

Dhaka, July 21 (UNB) - A surgeon of Manikganj Sadar Hospital and a motorcyclist were killed in separate road accidents in Savar on Saturday. At least ten other people were injured in one of the crashes. UNB Manikganj Correspondent adds, Md Shahidul Islam, 56, surgeon of Manikganj Sadar Hospital, was going to capital by a bus from Paturia at 4 pm. As the bus reached Bathuli of Dhamrai of Savar it skidded and overturned as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the doctor dead and 10 other passengers severely injured. Golra highway police with the help of local people rescued the injured and rushed them to Manikganj Sadar Hospital and a Dhamrai clinic. UNB Savar Correspondent adds, a speedy truck hit motorcyclist Habibur Rahman Oni, 40, on his way to Singair of Manikganj, instantly killing him at Tentul Jhora on Savar-Singair road in Savar on Saturday. He hailed from Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur district.
