Khaleda takes Iftar with orphans

Dhaka, July 21 (UNB) - BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia took Iftar with orphans and alem-ulemas (Islamic scholars) on the first day of Ramadan on Saturday.She hosted the Iftar party at the city's Ladies Club.Over 200 orphans, including boys and girls, from different orphanages in the capital as well as a good number of Islamic scholars from various areas attended the Iftar party.Khaleda, also the leader of the opposition in parliament, exchanged pleasantries with the guests.A munajat was offered before the Iftar seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and welfare of its people.Senior BNP leaders, including Dr RA Gani, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr MK Anwar, Dr Abul Moyeen Khan, Hannan Shah, Jamiruddin Sircar and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, among others, attended the programme.
