Golapganj thana OC suspended for bribery

Sylhet, Aug 07 (UNB) – Golapganj Model Thana officer (OC) Emdadul Haque Sheikh was suspended on Monday about nine months after taking bribe from a colleague. The departmental action came after graft allegation against him was proved during primary investigation. A fax message, sent to Golapganj thana by higher authority containing the temporary suspension order of OC Emdadul was received at the police station in the evening. The message said Golapganj Model Thana OC Emdadul Haque Sheikh has been suspended temporarily and transferred to Khulna Range from Sylhet Range on charge of taking bribe from Constable Abdul Qayum. Abdul Qayum alleged in a written complaint to the higher authority that OC Emdadul cheated him after taking an amount of money from him as bribe.
