55 mounds hilsa seized while being smuggled to India

Satkhira, Aug 12 (UNB) - Police recovered 55 mounds (2200 kgs) of hilsa worth Tk 12 lakh when the fish was being smuggled to India through Bhatshala border in Debhata upazila early Sunday. Acting on secret information Debhata police conducted a drive seized the delicious fish, packed in 55 cartons from a truck at frontier village Bhatshala, which were being smuggled to India before day break. However, no arrest was made. The fish was auctioned and sold to a bidder for Tk 12.
