PW rejects defence lawyer’s claim

Dhaka, Sept 2 (UNB) - A freedom fighter prosecution witness on Sunday rejected outright the defence counsel’s blame that he had managed freedom fighter’s certificate following an incident in which he suffered bullet wounds while committing looting after December 16, 1971.Responding to a defence lawyer’s suggestion, PW-9 M Amir Hossain Molla said, “It’s not true that I collected freedom fighter’s certificate over an incident where I received bullet injuries while looting houses in the city’s Mirpur area after the Liberation War.”Amir Hossain, who gave deposition before the International Crimes Tribunal-2 on August 27 was cross-examined by defence counsel for detained accused Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general Abdul Quader Mollah who produced in the dock during the trial proceedings.The cross-examination remained inconclusive.
