2 BCL men held in capital for attacking Sylhet CNG filling station

Sylhet, Sept 16 (UNB) – Police arrested two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists at a hotel in the capital early Sunday for vandalising a CNG filling station at Shibganj in Sylhet 11 days ago. The arrested are Selim Chowdhury and Saad, both activists of Shibganj BCL under Shah Poran Police Station in Sylhet city. Acting on secret information, a team of Shah Paran police in collaboration with Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police raided ‘Hotel Upaban’ at Fakirapool in the capital at about 3 am and arrested the duo. BCL activists attacked `Surma Autocare Pvt. Ltd CNG Refueling Station’ at Shibganj on September 5 and vandalised it causing Tk 60 lakh loss to its proprietor. A case was filed with Shah Paran thana accusing several people including Selim, Saad and Pinak for vandalising the CNG refueling station.
