Lightning strike kills 4 in Dinajpur

Dinajpur, Sept 19 (UNB) – At least four people were killed in separate lightning strikes in Kaharol upazila on Wednesday. The dead are: Sharif, 8, son of Mohammad Ali of Hatisha village, Shibu, 9, son of Ramesh Chandra Roy of the same village, Mohsin Ali, 29, son of Ketru Mohammad of Sundarpur village and his next door neighbour Habibur Rahman, 30, son of Nawshad Ali. Witnesses said thunderbolt struck and instantly killed Shibu and Sharif when they were catching fish at a canal beside Hatisha village during rain at 10:30 am while lightning strike knocked down Mohsin and Habib when they were working at a field at their village in the morning. Two other people, Sayem Ali, brother of Habib and their neighbour Ratan were also injured at Sundarpur in the lightning strike.
