BSF injures Bangladeshi farmer in Lalmonirhat

Lalmonirhat, Dec 11 (UNB) - A Bangladeshi farmer was shot and wounded by Border Security Force (BSF) of India along Doikhawa border in Hatibandha upazila early Friday.

The injured man was identified as Tahajul Islam, 25, son of Abul Hossain of the border area.

BDR 31 Rifles Battalion sources said some BSF men opened fire on Tahajul when he was working in his field near the border at about 5am, leaving him critically injured.

Local people rushed him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

When contacted, commander of local BDR camp Lt colonel Aslam confirmed the incident.
