Textbooks distributed among students on opening day of schools

Dhaka, Jan 2 (UNB) - The government distributed textbooks among the students of primary and secondary schools, Dakhil and Ebtedayee madrasas and vocational institutions on the opening day of classes today.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid was present at the book distribution ceremony at Azimpur Girls’ School & College in the city.

He said this is for the first time the government distributed textbooks free of cost among the students at primary and secondary levels.

The minister expressed satisfaction over completion of printing of textbooks well ahead of the start of new academic session and their distribution among all students across the country.

He hoped that the success of the government would help improvement in the quality of education. He urged all concerned to maintain the academic calendar.
