4 killed in road accident in Gazipur

Gazipur, Jan 4 (UNB) - Four people were killed in a head-on-collision between a pick-up and a truck at Chamurdeer Bazaar on Pubail-Gazipur by-pass road in Sadar upazila this (Monday) morning.

Police said the accident took place at about 7am when the Gazipur bound pick-up from Comilla collided with the truck coming from opposite direction, killing Siraj, 50, nd Farid, 38, on the spot.

Two other injured - Mohammad Ali, 35, died on the way to Dhaka Pongu Hospital while Bellal Hossain, 38, on the way to Sadar Hospital.

All of the victims were the passengers of the pick-up. Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.

The bodies were sent to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was filed.
