Dhaka, Jan 7 (UNB) - Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Thursday said all the students of English version-approved educational institutions which are following the curricula of the National
Curriculum and Textbook Board at the secondary level would get books free.

The minister made the disclosure while talking to reporters at his ministry.

The textbooks would be distributed from 1.42 lakh ones stored in NCTB’s godown after verifying the documents of the concerned institutions.

“If additional books are required, there will be quick printing,” he said.

Earlier, the students used to buy such books published by NCTB, said Nahid.

He said each teacher would also get a subject-wise book to facilitate their teaching.

Nahid said immediate steps would be taken for book supply to kindergartens after consultation with the NCTB and Primary and Mass Education Ministry.

Some 83 textbooks of primary and secondary levels for the first time have been posted on the website-- www.nctb.gov.bd.
