College student killed in Savar road crash; students blocked road

Jahangirnagar University, Jan 10 (UNB) - A college student was crushed under the wheels of a bus in C&B bus stand area on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar Sunday.

The dead was identified as Murad Hossain, an HSC examinee from Dhamrai Government College. Witnesses said a bus ran over Murad near Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) at 12 noon when he was waiting for a bus to go the college.

On information police rushed to spot and seized the bus but the driver and helper managed to flee.

As the death news spread, students of the college rushed to the spot and blocked the road for three hours from 1pm. Later, local administration and police brought the situation under control.
