BSF guns down Bangladeshi along Meherpur border

News - BSF guns down Bangladeshi along Meherpur border

Meherpur, Jan 16 (UNB) - A Bangladeshi citizen was shot dead by Indian border guards along Kazipur border in Gangni upazila here early Saturday.

The victim was identified as Shahidul Islam, 35, son of Sher Ali of the upazila.

BDR sources said BSF troops from Fulbari camp opened fire on Shahidul as he got close to the border for collecting firewood at about 5am.

Later, the BSF men dragged the body into Indian territory.

Meanwhile, BDR sent a protest letter to their counterpart and demanded immediate return of the body.
