Polytechnic student killed in Satkhira crash

Satkhira, Jan 29 (UNB) - A college student was killed and another injured as a bus rammed their motorcycle near Shakda Bridge under Patkelghata thana Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ripon Mondal, 24, a student of Khulna Polytechnic Institute and son of Sujit Mondal of Chalna village in Dakop upazila of Khulna district.

Police said the Khulna-bound bus smashed the bike at about 11am when Ripon and his friend Kafil, 23, also student of the same institute, were going to Satkhira, killing Ripon on the spot and injuring other.

The injured was admitted to Sadar Hospital.

Police seized the vehicle, but its driver managed to flee.
