5 women held for illegal border crossing

Satkhira, Feb 4 (UNB) - BDR jawans held five women at Laxmibari border in Sadar upazila while illegally going to India early Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Krishna Das, 45, Bijaya Datta, 38, Kabita Dhali, 35, Malina Datta, 40, of Kajirhat in Jessore Sadar upazila and Kanan Hawlader, 25, of Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BDR held them at about 12:30am when they reached the area for going to India.

On interrogation, the arrested said that they were going to the neighbouring country in search of works.
