RMG workers block road in Gazipur for arrears

Gazipur, Feb 8 (UNB) - Garment workers put barricade on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway Monday morning to press home their five-point demand including arrear salaries and resumption of their
factory, disrupting communication for about five hours.

Witnesses said the agitated workers of Giant and Six H Factory, which is remain closed for few months, staged demonstration in front of their factory at Senakalyan Commercial Complex in Tongi bazar area and barricaded the road at about 8:30am.

Police force tried to control the situation but they retreated facing the interception by the workers

Hundreds of passengers suffered a lot as communication on about 40 routes was suspended for five hours.

The garment workers, later, removed the barricade at about 2pm following assurance given by the district and police administration.
