Under-trial prisoner flees in Mymensingh

3 jail guards suspended

Mymensingh, Feb 10 (UNB) - An under-trial prisoner fled Mymensingh Medical College Hospital early Wednesday while undergoing treatment.

The fugitive prisoner was identified as Swapan Mia, 25.

Meanwhile, jail authorities suspended three jail guards - Akbar Ali, Abdul Kadir and Jasimuddin for their negligence in duty.

Hospital and Jail sources said Swapan fell sick in the district jail on Tuesday morning and was admitted to the hospital under the surveillance of the three jail guards.

But, he fled the hospital at about 3am dodging the trio.

Swapan was arrested from the district town few days ago on charge of killing his wife.
