Truck runs over college student in Bogra

Bogra, Feb 16 (UNB) – A college student was run over by a truck near the Government Azizul Huq College in the district town Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mashiur Rahman alias Pappu 18, a first year student of Armed Police Battalion College. He hailed from Kalai upazila of Joypurhat district.

Quoting witnesses, police said the sand-laden truck ran over Pappu in front of the old building of the college at 8am while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.  

Outraged by the accident, local people and students vandalized the truck and set fire on it.

The angry mob also put barricade on Banani-Matidhala road and damaged 10/15 vehicles and 40/50 rickshaws.

On information, police rushed in and was trying to quell the mob till filling of this report at 10:30am.
