Dhaka, Feb 18 (UNB) – BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday expressed hope that UK based Labour Friends of Bangladesh would work for the facilitation of workers and chefs of Bangladesh restaurants in catering business in the United Kingdom.
She expressed the hope when a delegation of visiting UK based Labour Friends of Bangladesh called on Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office at 8:30pm.
The delegation comprised of four MP candidates of the UK parliament election as well as consisted of councilors of Towers Hamlet, Cambden and Cardiff of the UK.
After the meeting that lasted about an hour, BNP chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed who was present at the meeting told UNB that they discussed mutual matters of improving the relations between the two countries, especially trade and investment.
The BNP chairperson apprised them of adverse impact on Bangladesh by Indian move to construct Tipaimukh Dam.
The delegation assured her that they are aware of it and would take the matter at appropriate level. BNP chairperson’s adviser Reaz Rahman was also present at the meeting.
