Sangsad Bhaban, Mar 2 (UNB) - Opposition BNP lawmakers Tuesday again staged walkout from the House in an angry protest as government lawmakers went on fanning the flame of indignation with scathing remarks about the slain president Ziaur Rahman.

The BNP lawmakers walked out at 7:48 pm when Awami League lawmaker M Shafiqul Islam began bashing Zia as ‘murderer and ISI agent’.

Taking part in the thanks-giving motion on the President’s speech, Shafiqul said that during Pakistan period, Ziaur Rahman was in the Pakistani military intelligence outfit ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence).

“Ziaur Rahman, after taking over power, established collaborators,” said the ruling-party MP-apparently in retaliation for their opponents’ earlier attacks against some Awami League stalwarts in a war of words over sensitive issues in the country’s baroque political landscape.
