30 people injured in Keraniganj clash

Keraniganj, Mar 5 (UNB)-At least 30 people were injured in a fierce clash between two groups of people in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district and bordering Abdullahpur of Keraniganj on Friday morning.

Witnesses said the clash erupted at 9:30 am today following yesterday’s clash over hiring a microbus at Abdullahpur.

Two people of Khaskandi area of Sirajdikhan upazila - Hashem and Salam - went to Abdullahpur on Thursday for hiring a microbus.

Some people of Abdullahpur beat them up as they locked into altercation with local people over the high rent of microbus.

As a sequel to yesterday’s incident, some people of Khaskandi area, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked today the people of Abdullahpur who beat them up yesterday, leaving a number of people injured.

Three of the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while two others to Mitford Hospital in critical condition.

On information, Police and RAB rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
