Mother of Army Chief passes away

Dhaka, Mar 6 (UNB) - Rasheda Begum, mother of Chief of Army Staff General Md Abdul Mubeen, died due to old age ailments at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here Friday night. She was 73.

She left behind her three sons, two daughters, grandsons and granddaughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death, said an ISPR press release.

She was buried at Banani military graveyard Saturday after namaj-e-janaza held at Army Central Mosque in Dhaka Cantonment Saturday.

Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff, relatives of the deceased and civil and military high officers attended the janaza.

Her Qulkhawni will be held at the Army Central Mosque after Asr prayers on Tuesday (Mar 9), it said.
