News - Trial process of war criminals almost complete: Home Minister
Dhaka, Mar 7 (UNB)-Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Sunday said all procedures for trying the war criminals are now almost complete and the trial would be disposed of at any cost.

She staked her life on this belated task of putting the war criminals of 1971 to trial.
The trial of the war criminals will be conducted as of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman murder case, “even if at the cost of my life”.

Addressing a function on the occasion of the commissioning of a water pump at West Manikdi in Dhaka Cantonment area, Advocate Sahara alleged that the anti-liberation forces and their collaborators are trying to destabilize the country through deteriorating law and order as the government executed the death sentence in the Bangabandhu murder case and already started the war criminals’ trial process.

The Home Minister warned that action would be taken against those who are creating anarchy through plotting conspiracy as well as conducting killings, lootings and ransacking in the country.

Advocate Sahara blamed the former BNP-led four-party alliance government for diverting investigations of some sensational cases to save real culprits involved in those incidents.

“Culprits will be punished after completion of reinvestigations into some of those sensational cases, including the 10-truck arms case of Chittagong, August 21 grenade attack case and jail killing case,” she said.
