Bangladesh-WHO agree to work for strengthening pro-poor healthcare service

Dhaka, Mar 9 (UNB) - Bangladesh and World Heath Organization (WHO) agreed to work together for strengthening pro-poor healthcare service in the country.

This was disclosed at a joint press conference by WHO DG Dr Margaret Chan and Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque.

Addressing the occasion, Dr Margaret Chan WHO is committed to provide technical assistance to effective and pro-poor healthcare programme and would continue its cooperation to Bangladesh in achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

The world health watchdog would also provide technical assistance in determining health risks arising out of climate change impacts, she said.

Earlier, the WHO DG held a view exchange meeting with officials of the health ministry.
