Four wounded in cocktail explosion in city

Dhaka, Mar 10 (UNB) - At least four people, including two children, were wounded in a cocktail explosion in a slum at Shahidnagar in the city’s Lalbagh thana area on Wednesday.

The victims were identified as Akhi, 30, Mitu, 14, Jhumur, 6, and Rafiqul, 2.

Police said a cocktail bomb packed into a bottle went off with a loud sound at about 12:15pm when the two children were playing with it, leaving four people wounded.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where condition of Rafiqul was stated to be “critical”.

It was not known immediately who took the explosive there and why.
