FM Shakil of Biman takes solo lead in Parachute International Chess

Dhaka, Mar 10 (UNB) - FM Abu Sufian Shakil of Biman took solo lead in the Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament securing 2.5 points after the 3rd round matches at the Uni Resort in Cox’s Bazar today (Wednesday).

Four players share the 2nd position securing two points each. They are FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Basir Memorial, Shamima Akter Liza of Narayanganj, WIM Kiran Manisha Mohanty of India and Minina Veronika of Russia.

In the day’s 3rd round matches, Shakil beat WFM Tanima Parveen of Chittagong, Liza drew with Dhyani Dave of India, Emon lost to Veronika, Kiran drew with FM Peter Long of Malaysia and FM Abdul Malek of Biman beat Saifuddin Lavlu of Titas Club.

The 5th round games will be held tomorrow (Thursday) from 2:30 pm at the same venue.
