Dhaka, Mar 11 (UNB)-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday said the cultural relations between Bangladesh and India would strengthen further as these two countries are bound by long and traditional cultural ties.

She expressed the optimism when President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Dr Karan Singh called on her at her official residence Ganobhaban.

“We are heritors of same long tradition,” the Prime Minister told the Indian cultural personality.

She said the people of this country still remember the help India had extended during the great Bangladesh Liberation War.

Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Mahbubul Hoque Shakil briefed reporters after the meeting.

Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Ambassador-at-large Ziauddin and deputy high commissioner of India Mukta Dutta Tomar were among others present during the call.
