News - Cricket Board hopes Raqibul to reconsider his decision and return to play
Dhaka, Mar 11 (UNB)-Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has asked cricketer Raqibul Hasan to reconsider his decision and return to play.

In an apparent insipid attempt to bring back the top order batsman Raqibul, BCB today sent a message on e-mail but did not care if it reached him.

Raqibul has suddenly on Wednesday resigned from the national cricket team on showing personal ground. His resignation barely two days before the test match with England has raised wide speculations that he resigned from the cricket because of maltreatment by the Cricket Board officials.

Despite repeated attempts Raqibul could not be reached on phone to ascertain the real reason of his resignation. Nor his family members responded to telephone calls.

Raqbul had made a mark by hitting century and a half century in the three day warm up match against England in Chittagong that concluded on Tuesday.

Top officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board said it was none of their faults. The decision of Raqibul to resign from the cricket was his own and unilateral. Terming it premature they hoped Raqibul will reconsider and return to play.

They refuted the rumours centering the resignation of Raqibul. They said selection of players for Test, ODI and T20 is done purely on performance and merit.
