Mother, daughter killed in train strike in Ctg

Chittagong, Mar 11 (UNB) - A woman and her minor daughter were killed as a train hit them at Sitakunda rail station here on Thursday evening.

The victims were identified as Rokshana Begum, 25, and two-year-old Sonia, of nearby Mir Taluka village.

Police said the Chittagong-bound Meghna Express from Chandpur struck them at about 5:45pm while they were crossing the rail lines, leaving Rokshana dead on the spot.

Injured Sonia was rushed to a local medical centre where she died soon.

The bodies were recovered and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
