Dhaka, Apr 15 (UNB)-Detained former State Minister for Education ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon of BNP secured bail for three months from the High Court today (Thursday) in connection with an offence of damaging the car of his political rival.
Granting interim bail to Milon upon a petition, a division bench comprising Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah and Justice Farah Mahbub issued a rule on the government to explain why the accused-petitioner should not be granted regular bail in connection with the case.
On October 18 in 2003, Awami League presidium member and lawmaker Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir’s car came under attack at Kachua upazila in Chandpur district.
On May 6 last year, local Awami League leader Kalim Ullah filed the case with Kachua police station accusing 38 people including Milon and his wife.
A month ago, on March 14, a judicial magistrate in Chandpur sent Milon to jail after the BNP leader surrendered to the court seeking bail.
