
Nilphamari, Apr 20 (UNB) - The opposition chief whip Zainul Abdin Farroque on Tuesday got bail in a defamation filed with a local court for making corruption allegation against Prime Minister’s son Sajib Wajed Joy over VoIP business.
Senior judicial magistrate Maruf Hossain granted the bail till May 13 when the BNP leader appeared before the court and sought bail.
On March 16, Bangladesh Chhatra League central leader Nayeem Shahriar Pew filed the case with chief judicial magistrate court demanding Tk 10,000 crore as compensation for making negative comment against Joy.
While talking to reporters after receiving the bail, Zainul said cases are filed whenever anything is said against corruption of the government.
He said a total of 21 cases were filed against him from Teknaf to Tentulia for speaking against injustices.
