Madhyapara Hard Rock Mine workers calls off their indefinite strike

Dinajpur, May 26 (UNB) - Madhyapara Hard Rock Mine workers called off their indefinite strike today (Wednesday), after four days of their agitation programme.

They decided to withdraw their strike at 3pm today after fruitful talks with the officials of Hard Rock Mine held at the mine office.

At the meeting, the authorities assured the workers of regularizing their jobs within a year.

Some 292 Hard Rock Mine workers went on indefinite strike on Sunday demanding regularization of their jobs and payment of arrear salaries and allowances.

The strike forced the mine authorities to suspend the sale of rocks.
