Shariatpur, June 22 (UNB)-Transport owners and workers of 21 southwestern districts called an indefinite strike from Thursday to press home their 16-point demand.

Transport owners-workers unity council announced the programme at a press conference at district bus-minibus transport owners’ office on Monday.

They gave an ultimatum to the government to fulfill their demands including ban on the plying of various kinds of human hauler like Nasimon, Kariman and Bhatbhati, stopping BRTC bus service on Barisal-Keorakandi route, cancellation of the approval of Naria bus owners’ association by Wednesday.
