
Netrakona, June 25 (UNB)-Heavy rain and onrush of hill waters from the upstream have inundated vast areas of three upazilas of the district, leaving about 1 lakh people marooned.
Around 60 villages of Durgapur, Kalmakanda and Khaliajuri upazilas went under water.
Water Development Board sources said Sumeswari river in Durgapur upazila on Thursday was flowing 75cm above danger level while Updokali river in Kalmakanda upazila 50cm and Dhahu river in Khaliajuri upazila 52 cm were flowing above the danger marks.
Many educational institutions were closed in these areas due to the flashflood.
The affected people said they have not got any relief yet from the government or NGOs.
