9 held in Satkhira border while illegally going to India

Satkhira, June 25 (UNB) - Nine people were arrested from Uksha border in Kaligang upazila while illegally going to India early Friday.

They are: Masud Hasan, 18, son of Nazrul Islam, Milon Hossain, 19, son of Matin Gazi, Hazrat Ali, 43, son of late Belayet Sardar, Belal Molla, 20, son of late Tamiz Molla, Riazul Islam Babul, 20, son of Gaffar Gazi, Ambia Khatun, 32, wife of Shajahan Molla and his ten years old son Nayan Molla, Rizia Bibi, 33, wife of Julfikar Ali and Sakat Ali, 30, son of Ali Moral.

They all hailed from different villages in Shyamnagar upazila in the district.

Police said a patrol team of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) held them while they were illegally crossing the border for going to India.

The arrested said that they were going to India in search of works there.

A case was filed with local thana.
