Dhaka, Jul 5 (UNB) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr AFM Ruhal Haque on Monday stressed the need for integrating maternal and child health related projects for improving the country’s maternal and child healthcare.

“We’ve to reduce duplication of similar projects to improve the maternal and child health,” he said while addressing the meeting of Health Nutrition and Population Sector Programme (HNPSP) Steering Committee at the Health Ministry on Monday afternoon.

About the government initiatives to develop the health sector, Dr Ruhal Haque said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always takes keen interest about the health sector programmes in the country and she is also enthusiastic about solving the health problems of the people.

Recalling the present government’s `Vision 2021’, he said it will be possible to take positive and timely steps in developing the health sector following positive approach by the government’s highest level.

The Health Minister urged the development partners to ease the process of receiving foreign aid for the grater development of the country’s health sector.

Prime Minister’s adviser on Health and Social Welfare Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Capt (retd) Mujibur Rahman Fakir and Health Secretary Sheikh Altaf Ali were, among others, present at the meeting.
