Student killed in wall collapse in Sherpur

Sherpur, Jul 25 (UNB) - A student of Adarsha Bidyapith High School was killed in wall collapse in Nobinagar area of the district town on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq, 11, a class-five student of the school and only son of truck driver Mofazzal Hossain Moka of the area.

Witnesses said a football match of the children of the area was held on the school ground on Friday evening.

Ashiq along with his other class mates was watching the game sitting on a wall of an under construction building in east side of the school.

Suddenly, the wall collapsed and fell on him, leaving him critically injured at around 5 pm.

Locals rescued Ashiq and sent him to the district general hospital. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
