Chittagong, Jul 25 (UNB) - Chittagong Dock Port Workers Federation (DPWF) allied with the ruling party today withdrew its weeklong demonstration and work abstention following fruitful discussion with the Port Authority.

The DPWF announced withdrawal of its programme at 8pm today following a meeting with Acting Chairman of the Port Captain Anwarul Haque and senior officials.

The federation leader Abdul Ahad told UNB that the Port authority has assured of fulfilling some of the demands including identity card for the workers and non-engagement of outsiders for outer-anchorage.
