News - 2 high officials killed in Manikganj road crash
Manikganj, Jul 31 (UNB) -Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry Razia Begum and BSCIC Chairman Siddiqur Rahman were killed and two others were injured in a tragic road accident on Dhaka-Aricha highway this (Saturday) morning.

They were going to attend the Prime Minister’s programme in Gopalganj.

Police said the accident occurred at 7:45am when a Dhaka bound passenger bus collided with their Pajero Jeep at Paturia crossing on the highway, leaving Siddiqur Rahman, 52, dead on the spot and Razia Begum, 48, and police constable Fazlur Rahman, 40, and driver Fazlul Haque, 40, injured critically.

Razia begum was rushed to Manikganj Sadar hospital where the attending doctors declared her dead.

Police constable Fazlur Rahman was later shifted to Dhaka for better treatment.
