Comilla, Aug 7 (UNB) - Train services on Dhaka-Chittagong rail route remained suspended for over six hours as a train derailed near Lalmai railway station in Sadar South upazila on Saturday.
Railway sources said two goods-loaded rear bogies of Chittagong-bound Jalalabad Express passenger train from Sylhet went out of the tracks at noon, that disrupted train services between
Chittagong and Dhaka and Sylhet.
The cause of the derailment, however, could not be known immediately.
Train services on the route resumed at about 6:15 pm when two rescue trains from Laksam and Akhaura rushed to the spot and removed the two derailed bogies.
The express train left the spot leaving behind its two derailed compartments.
