Dhaka, Aug 11 (UNB) - The Home Ministry would sincerely consider any proposal and initiative to increase the number of policemen in UN Peace Keeping Mission.

State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku said this while visiting the Bangladesh Permanent Mission in United Nations in New York on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Permanent Representative to UN Dr AK Abdul Momen apprised the minister about the praiseworthy role of Bangladesh for contributing maximum number of troops to UN Peace Keeping Mission and Bangladesh’s positive contribution to various issues, including peace building.

The minister assured of extending cooperation from his ministry when the issue of sending more female police personnel in peace keeping mission was raised to him.

“The Home Ministry is sincere about all matters for enhancing the participation of Bangladesh in world peace keeping”, said Tuku.
