Dhaka, Aug 12 (UNB) - All government and non-government schools and colleges, vocational institutions and equivalent English medium schools across the country will remain closed from August 14 to September 16 on the occasion of holy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the government decision to reporters at the Education Ministry on Thursday.

Classes of madrasahs will remain closed from August 14 to September 19.

Government and non-government primary schools and community primary schools will remain closed from August 16 to September 16.

During this long vacation, Nahid said if needed the school management can only take examinations.

He said private coaching at educational institutions in exchange of money will not be allowed.

The Education Minister said a teacher can take remuneration of Tk 175 for additional classes under a project that runs in 4,500 schools across the country.
