Robbers loot Tk 15 lakh from a trader in Satkhira; 2 held
Satkhira, Aug 13 (UNB) - Robbers looted Tk 15 lakh in cash from a shrimp trader at Ekshara launch ghat in Ashasuni upazila on Wednesday night.
Police quoting local people said a gang of robbers numbering 6/7 attacked shrimp trader Ruhul Kuddus Gazi, son of Iman Gazi of Kalikapur village at about 10pm while he was waiting at the ghat for a launch to go to Khulna for business purpose.
Hearing the hue and cry of Ruhul Kuddus locals rushed to the spot and caught two of the robbers -Rafiqul Biswas, 35, and Asadul Gazi, 32, of Cheutia village of Ashashuni upazila - while others managed to escape with the cash.
The two robbers after mass beating were handed over to the police. A case was filed.
