Four held with arms and drugs in Barisal

Barisal, Aug 13 (UNB) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested four miscreants along with arms and drugs in the city on Wednesday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-8 arrested Masum alias Vussum Masum, 35, and seized a revolver loaded with one round of bullet from his house in city’s Amanatganj at about 11:30pm.

Police said Masum was wanted in a number of murder, extortion and other criminal cases.

In another drive, the RAB team arrested drug peddler Parvin, 35, wife of Abdul Barek and Lima, 26, wife of Amir Hossain from New Vatikhana area of the city at about midnight.

They seized four liters Phensidyl and 320 empty bottles of phensidyl from their rented house.

RAB also arrested one Shah Alam along with 15 bottles of phensidyl from Charbaria area of the city at about 11:50 pm.

The arrestees were handed over to police and cases were lodged in this connection.
