12 injured in student-worker clash in Sariatpur

Sariatpur, Aug 14 (UNB) - About a dozen people were injured in a clash between students of Sariatpur Govt college and transport workers in the town today.

Sources said the clash begun at about 11am over charging of allegedly hike bus fare. Both side used sticks and brickbats and sharp weapons during the clash.

On information police rushed to the spot to disperse the warring groups also came under the attack.

Of the injured, three transport workers-Allin Bahar, Nuru Bahar and Billal Hossian and three students--- Polash, Shohag and Earshad were admitted to the Sadar hospital.

Constable Jalal, badly injured during the clash, was admitted to the same hospital.
