Kyrgyz ambassador meets FM to discuss bilateral issues

Dhaka, Aug 23 (UNB) - Kyrgyz Ambassador to Bangladesh Orolbaeva Irina Abdyevna today called on Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni and discussed the issues of common interests like development cooperation, trade and investment and high level visits of both the countries.

During the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry, Dipu Moni urged the Kyrgyz government to import medicine ceramic products, jute and jute goods from Bangladesh in a large scale.

She informed the Ambassador that the existing bilateral trade volume of the two countries is not satisfactory and said the government took initiatives to explore the bilateral trade and the two agreements on “Trade and Economic Cooperation” and “Agreement on Avoidance of
Double Taxation.”

Dr. Dipu Moni also mentioned that Bangladesh and Kyrgyz Republic might take initiatives to promote trade and investment and exchange of business delegations to further enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The envoy informed the Foreign Minister that the Kyrgyz Republic Foreign Minister would like to visit Bangladesh in convenient time in future.

The Foreign Minister told the Ambassador that Bangladesh had produced high quality medicine and pharmaceutical items which are exported to 72 countries of the world including Europe, North America and Africa.

Mentioning that Bangladesh also produced high quality garments, ceramic products, jute and jute goods, she said the Kyrgyz Republic could import these items in a large scale from Bangladesh.

Kyrgyz Republic imports from Bangladesh, medicine ceramic products, jute and jute goods in a small scale.
