Dhaka, Aug 16 (UNB) - Commerce Minister Faruk Khan has said the trial of crimes against humanity would be held under the existing laws for establishing the rule of law in the country.

“We have to work to the long expected independence of the country which was realized at the cost of huge lives of people,” he said while addressing discussions at Kashiani upazila in Gopalganj on Sunday.

Kashiani Upazila unit of Awami League organized the discussion on ‘Trial of War Crimes’ at Kashiani upazila auditorium demanding punishment for the war criminals. Faruk Khan urged all to come forward and to play a significant role for building the country into a ‘Sonar Bangla’, as dreamed by the founder of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Local AL leaders Atiqur Rahman Mia, Shah Akram Hossain, Abdur Rouf and Moktar Hossain, among others, spoke at the discussion.
