News - Weekly tea sale Tuesday sees very strong demand
Chittagong, Aug 17 (UNB) - The weekly tea sale here Tuesday witnessed very strong demand and all grades appreciated in prices.

According to a market report, Blenders were very active along with fairly good support from the Loose Tea section.

Dusts were a dearer market.

CTC LEAF: 22,610 packages and 734 packages of Old Season on offer met with a very strong demand at progressively dearer rates.

BROKENS: Good liquoring Brokens were strongly sought after and were often dearer by Tk 6/- to Tk 8/- and these could be quoted between Tk 174/- and Tk 180/-. Medium and plainer varieties were similarly dearer.

FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were a strong feature and moved up by Tk 6/- to Tk 10/- and these sold between Tk 174/- and Tk 180/-. Medium and plainer types were dearer by Tk 6/- to Tk 9/-.

CTC DUST: 3,609 packages and 10 packages of Old Season on offer met with a good demand at dearer rates. Good liquoring RDs met with a good market and were dearer by up to Tk 3/- to Tk 5/-. Good liquoring Ds met with a good competition and often advanced by Tk 5/- to Tk 8/-
over last. CDs were also a good market and were dearer by a similar margin. Medium and plainer varieties were generally firm. Once again both Blenders and Loose Tea buyers lent a good support.
