Gazipur, Aug 20 (UNB) - Police in separate raids here arrested six people and unearthed two fake money making factories on Thursday midnight and early Friday.

Being tipped-off, police raided two rented houses of Mushfiqur Rahim Mondal and Salamot Molla and held four men Raja Mia, Ibrahim, Maruf and Salma Begum alias Chayan from the two houses at Auchpara in Tongi thana.

Some foreign currencies, 391 fake notes of Tk 5,00 denomination, machineries for making fake money and other goods were also recovered from the two houses during the raid on Thursday midnight.

Two house owners who were engaged in making forged money at their rented houses, however, managed to escape during the raid.

In another raid, Police arrested two youths along with a foreign pistol and five bullets at Telipara in Sadar upazila early Friday.

Police challenged two youth Masudul Kabir, 24, and Sharif, 21, of same area seeing their suspicious movement at about 2am.

Being challenged, they tried to flee away, but the law enforcers held them after a good chase.

A foreign pistol and five bullets were recovered from their possessions.
